2021 Ford EcoSport Review
The 2021 Ford EcoSport is just rolling into our lot and we’ve got a lot to say about it! From smooth performance to safety features, there’s something for every driver. We here at Palm Coast Ford have written up a short review of this vehicle for our friends and neighbors in Palm Coast, St. Augustine, and Daytona Beach, FL.
2021 Ford EcoSport Review: Performance
When purchasing your next vehicle, power and performance can be important factors. The EcoSport comes equipped with one of two engines including an available 2.0L Ti-VCT I-4 engine with Auto Stop-Start Technology. The additional Intelligent Four-Wheel Drive gives it a boost on rougher terrain.
And for the specifics? The 2.0L engine produces 166 horsepower and 149 lb-ft of torque. Also coming standard is the 6-Speed Automatic transmission. When it comes to towing, again with the 2.0L engine, you can move up to 2,000 pounds when the vehicle is properly equipped.
As you can see, the EcoSport has the power and ability to satisfy you on the road needs. Before we move on, let’s take a look at one more performance feature: the AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™). This feature can help elevate your confidence with driving on snow, gravel, ice, and other potentially hazardous environments.
Going further, the AdvanceTrac® also provides an increased stopping power, a boost to stability, along with improved traction, and a refinement of handling. This is achieved by a set of sensors that check the vehicle’s stability 150 a second. If there is an issue noticed by the system, it corrects the path of the vehicle by either braking one or more wheels that’ll keep the vehicle on the intended path.
2021 Ford EcoSport Review: Safety
The EcoSport supports a varied amount of dedicated safety features, all designed with you in mind.
Some of the highlights on display here are the dual-stage driver and front-passenger airbags, which flow into the driver and front passenger Knee Airbag. There are more airbag features tucked away inside the cabin, such as the Safety Canopy® system side-curtain airbags.
Other points of interest include the Emergency Brake Assist System, a feature that can detect when you brake heavily and provides maximum braking efficiency, designed to help reduce stopping distances.
Another great feature is the Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), which is standard on all EcoSport models, alerts you if the sensor detects that tire pressure in one or more tires drops too low. This system is calibrated to the EcoSport to help ensure accurate readings.
Finally, there is Ford MyKey® technology which helps parents encourage teenagers to drive more responsibly. Program your key to a restricted or driving setting that promotes good habits, such as mandating safety belt use, limiting top speed, and decreasing audio volume.
2021 Ford EcoSport Review: Infotainment
The Ford EcoSport comes well equipped in the infotainment area. It starts off with a standard AM/FM radio that’s accompanied by 6 speakers and is also MP3 compatible.
In terms of directly interfacing, the SYNC® with 4.2-inch display and FordPass™ Connect certainly does the trick. Thanks to FordPass®, you’ll be able to access features like start/stop, lock/unlock, remote start scheduling, vehicle location, fuel levels and mileage. Your vehicle can also be used as a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.
