Plate of loaded nachos with guacamole

If you like nothing better than spicy nachos or tacos, washed down with a good margarita, you are spoiled for choice if you live in Palm Coast, Florida. Here are a few must-visits the next time you're in the mood for some Mexican.

1. Salsa's Mexican Restaurant

Just about every surface, including the booths, chairs, and walls, of the Salsa's venue in Palm Beach is painted in bright colors. The homey and jolly feel of the place is enhanced by a quaint little bar that's stacked to the brim with bottles of all shapes and sizes. Sit down here for a Salsa's House Margarita, prepared with Jose Cuervo, a splash of triple sec, orange juice, and their homemade margarita mix, before moving to a booth for your meal.

As is the case normally at a Mexican joint, the menu is extensive and jam-packed with an array of appetizers, soups, salads, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, enchiladas, and much more. Try one of their new dishes, such as the Piña Mexicana, which is pork al pastor that's fried with pineapple chunks and served in half a pineapple bowl. The dish is accompanied by rice, beans, pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream, and tortillas.

2. Burrito Works Taco Shop

Burrito Works Taco Shop had humble beginnings in a small shack right next to the Atlantic Ocean in Flagler Beach. Despite the unglamorous setting, the freshly prepared and delicious Mexican fare they served at this joint quickly became a staple among the locals. Although they have expanded to four locations, the venues have retained the shack-like feel of the first location. In addition, all ingredients are still locally sourced and only natural, hormone-free meats are used in their dishes.

The menu at Burrito Works is surprisingly concise and features tostadas, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, and burritos. Patrons get to choose their protein from two groups, namely Land and Sea. The Land group provides options like chicken, ground beef, chili pork, black beans, and refried beans, while the Sea group offers either Mahi Mahi or shrimp. In addition, a choice of two signature topping styles is offered: The Works, which is cheese, sour cream, cilantro, lettuce, onion, salsa, and lime, and Baja with salsa, onion, cilantro, lime, cabbage, and spicy Baja sauce.

3. Cantina Mr. Pancho Mexican Grill

Going out for a meal at a Mexican restaurant is not only about savoring authentic Mexican fare. It's also about the colorful setting and cheery ambiance. Mr. Pancho's ticks all the boxes. Apart from a colorful venue that features bright and cheery wall art, Mr. Pancho's offers a warm and welcoming vibe and friendly staff. The excellent margaritas they serve at this joint, as well as weekly mariachi bands, further contribute to the jolly vibe at this eatery.

The menu, as one expects, is several pages long and features all the usual suspects. If you're in the mood for seafood, spoil yourself with the Camarones a la Diabla, which is 12 grilled shrimps cooked in a hot sauce and served with rice, refried beans, and bandera salad.

Next time you're in the mood for something Mexican, pop by these quality Mexican eateries, where you can enjoy delicious food in a friendly and pleasant setting.
