At Graham Swamp Preserve in Palm Coast, you can see more than 3,000 acres of protected wilderness. People call its 6.7-mile mountain bike trail The Swamp, and it’s filled with natural and manmade obstacles for a challenging ride. You can also go hiking. This place has a variety of plant and animal species, and it’s a popular destination for wildlife photographers and naturalists. This freshwater swamp forms the headwaters of Bulow Creek.
Swim With Dolphins
Visit Marineland Dolphin Adventure to swim with dolphins or see them up close from land. This place also has sea turtles, tiger sharks, eels, and many beautiful fish, and it rehabilitates many creatures that were injured in the wild. It started as an underwater film studio, and today it educates people about the ecology of the ocean nearby.
During kayak or boat eco tours, you can see dolphins in their natural habitat while exploring the Matanzas River Estuary. Marineland’s boat runs on recycled vegetable oil collected from restaurants, and it protects wildlife by using water jet propulsion with no exposed propeller. You can also see dolphins during a two-hour Fins & Freedom sailboat tour. This interesting attraction is in St. Augustine, about half an hour away from Palm Coast, and it’s open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Active or retired members of the military and their dependents will get a discount.
Go Fishing
Palm Coast has beautiful wetlands and marshes, and the ocean nearby has plenty of protected areas where you can avoid strong winds.
