Ford Expedition: Power & Performance
When it comes to power, the Expedition comes out swinging. It comes equipped with a 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine and a 23.2-gallon fuel tank. The power generated by this engine clocks in at 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque.
Adding to this massive power generator, the Expedition also has additional features that make the driving experience even more comfortable. The 10-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift® provides a wide ratio span and optimized gear spacing that helps improve responsiveness and performance during acceleration.
In addition, Auto-Stop-Start Technology and ABS with Brake Assist and EBD (Electronic Brakeforce Distribution) go hand-in-hand to create an even more safe driving experience. The air brake system is great for those short stops or emergency maneuvers.
Ford Expedition: Safety Features
The safety features inside the Expedition are robust. Not only are these designed with you in mind, but these also ensure that all passengers in the Expedition are safe.
The first major feature that does this is the Rear View Camera with Backup Assist Grid Lines and Washer. It provides a video image on the standard 8-inch LCD touchscreen of the area behind your vehicle. This way not only will you know what’s behind you, but the screen will also assist with trailering or backing up in tight places.
For direct physical safety, the Expedition contains a few different airbag features. First there is the dual-stage front airbags and side-impact airbags. Then, there is the Safety Canopy® System, which ensures that the airbags installed in the roof of the cabin are deployed at the appropriate time.
Finally, you’ll have the Individual Tire Pressure Monitoring System and SOS Post-Crash Alert System™. The former will keep you abreast of any significant or rapid changes in tire pressure, so you can adjust your driving accordingly until you can service the tire in question.
The SOS Post-Crash Alert System™ comes into effect once a collision occurs. It will turn on the alarm and flashing lights to draw attention to the crash site. This feature considers the possibility of the driver being impaired, so it does the job for you of alerting for help.
Ford Expedition: Infotainment
When it comes to being wired and well-connected, the Expedition has got you covered.
It comes equipped with SYNC® 3 with Enhanced Voice Recognition Communications and Entertainment System. This system is an easy-to-use, voice-activated tech that also has a capacitive touchscreen similar to your smartphone. Its sleek, user-friendly interface helps SYNC® 3 deliver more than just the ability to make phone calls and play your favorite music, it makes connectivity smart and simple.
But that’s not all! It also comes equipped with FordPass™ Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot. This feature, powered by AT&T, allows up to 10 devices to be connected to the hotspot. You’re able to track your data usage through the FordPass™ app as well.
Finally, some additional features are an audio system, AM/FM stereo, MP3 capability, six speakers, and speed-compensated volume.
