What’s the All-Electric Range of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

What’s the All-Electric Range of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

With an all-electric vehicle, you’re expecting to get some great range that takes you far. You’ll find that through both the standard-range and extended-range batteries of the Ford F-150 Lightning. Check out the following EPA-estimates:

  • Standard-range battery: 240 miles
  • Extended-range battery: 320 miles

The Platinum trim level achieves its own EPA-estimated range of 300 miles with the extended range battery. With any choice, you’ll be cruising for many miles to come.

How Do I Change the Ford F-150 Lightning at Home?

Charging electric vehicles will be new territory for many drivers. Our team will be here to help with any questions and to walk you through the various charging levels, some of which are conveniently found at home.

For example, your F-150 Lightning achieves level 1 charging through a standard 120-volt outlet found in many houses. To get level 2 charging, see if your home has a NEMA 14-50 outlet or if you can get one professionally installed. The latter lets you power up the extended-range battery to 100% in about 20 hours.

Another professionally-installed option is the Ford Charge Station Pro. It charges the standard-range battery in 10 hours and the extended range-battery in eight hours. Plus, if you choose the extended-range battery, this system already comes standard!

How Do I Charge the Ford F-150 Lightning in Public?

Of course, you might be out and about when you need to charge the battery. Luckily, you’ll now be a part of the BlueOval™ Charge Network that will help you find the closest station nearby.

Public DC fast chargers live up to their name by providing quick power to your machine. In about 10 minutes, you can send up to 54 miles of range to the extended-range battery, giving you more flexibility to get to your next location or back home.

What’s the Towing Capacity of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

What’s the Towing Capacity of the Ford F-150 Lightning?

A big question on your mind might be about the towing capacity of the Ford F-150 Lightning. You’ll want a truck that still meets all of your needs when it comes to bringing heavy gear to work or on a fun adventure.

Like with range, the towing capacity differs slightly depending on your choice of the standard-range or the extended-range battery. When properly equipped, the F-150 Lightning can tow the following amounts:

  • Standard-range battery: 7,700 pounds
  • Extended-range battery: 10,000 pounds

The Platinum trim again sets itself apart with these metrics. It falls in the middle at a maximum towing capacity of 8,600 when properly equipped. No matter the battery you select, you’ll be able to hitch up a boat or a trailer that carries your ATVs or jet skis.
