The 2020 Ranger has a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged EcoBoost engine that gives 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. Automatic start and stop technology saves fuel by shutting down the engine when you stop in traffic, preventing idling. Accessories such as your heater will stay on, and this feature deactivates while you’re towing a trailer or using four-wheel drive.

This truck can carry up to 1,860 pounds, and it can tow up to 7,500 pounds. The 10-speed automatic transmission has three overdrive gears and a Tow/Haul mode. Choose the terrain management system for four more driving modes: Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Ruts, Normal, and Sand. The optional Trail Control cruise control system can work on rough trails and steep hills, and there’s plenty of ground clearance to help you drive over obstacles. You can also add off-road tires and a suspension designed for off-roading.

The 18-gallon fuel tank lets you take long trips without stopping for gas. Trailer sway control makes towing easier and safer, the power steering is responsive, and this durable vehicle is fun to drive and practical. This truck gets 21 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The four-wheel-drive version still provides 20 mpg in traffic and 24 mpg on the open road. It can also switch to two-wheel drive in nice weather and on smooth roads to save additional fuel.

Advanced Technology

The interior has a futuristic look, and there are lots of convenient buttons and dials on the center console. You’ll also get buttons on the steering wheel, a Wi-Fi hotspot. And a 2.3-inch screen. A 110-volt power outlet, automatic high beams, a 4.2-inch display, keyless entry, SiriusXM satellite radio, push-button start, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror are optional. You can also select dual-zone automatic climate control, navigation, heated power front seats, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and an 8-inch touch screen.

Excellent Safety

The 2020 Ford Ranger’s safety and driver assistance technologies will improve your peace of mind and help you protect yourself and your passengers. It includes a rearview camera, curve control to limit your speed while making turns or traveling through curves, automatic emergency braking, and a security system. The post-crash alert system turns on the horn and the hazard lights after a collision. You can add a blind spot information system with rear cross-traffic alert to help you back out of parking spaces and lane-keeping assistance.
