Burger and fries on wood board

Sometimes when you’re hungry, only a tasty, succulent burger will satisfy your appetite. Whether you want to sit and eat a specialty gourmet burger or grab a classic burger on the run, Palm Coast, Florida, has some superb burger restaurants. Here are some of our favorites.

The Brown Dog

Located on St. Joe Plaza Drive, The Brown Dog is a bar and burger restaurant with wooden floors and beer-related artwork that gives the place a cool, laid back atmosphere. They offer 16 rotating craft beer taps with a focus on local breweries. You can choose to sit at the bar, at tables, in a booth, or on the cozy patio.

The selection of hand-pressed burgers features items like the Fungus Amongus, the Rey Mysterio, and the Whiskey Richard with its bourbon glaze. Alternatively, look out for the burger of the month, which is sure to be something new and exciting. You also have a choice of basket meals, tacos, and sandwiches.

Houligan’s Irish Bar

If you want to enjoy some sports with your burger, head for Houligan’s Irish Bar on Plaza Drive. There is plenty of seating from which you can see the multiple TVs in this lively spot. An outdoor seating area is available for al fresco dining. The full-service bar offers cold draft beer and a selection of craft beers.

The menu features a large choice of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, entrees, and the famous Wally Wings. Houligan’s signature burgers include the Bacon Swiss, Mushroom Provelone, the Black & Bleu, and the Fuse Burger. If you’ve got room for dessert, try the awesome raspberry white chocolate cheese brulee!

Captain’s BBQ

Captain’s BBQ is set in a waterfront location at Bing’s Landing on North Oceanshore Boulevard and offers stunning views. The screened outdoor seating gets you even closer to the scenery. The restaurant specializes in true Southern barbecue and their meats and side dishes are slow-cooked in the wood-burning smoker out front.

For their burgers, they use Black Angus beef with options including the B.Y.O.B. with your choice of toppings, the brisket burger, the Captain’s BBQ Burger, the Mala Compra, Black & Blue, and the breakfast burger. You can also choose from a variety of barbecue plates, sandwiches, and specialties like the Bait Bucket and Sloppy Basa.

JT’s Seafood Shack

JT’s Seafood Shack is located on North Oceanshore Boulevard in a little place known as The Hammock. Nestled among large oak trees, “The Shack” features a rustic tin roof, wood doors, and fish-related decor that give it a very relaxed ambiance. The friendly, attentive service adds to the casual feel of the place.

Although they specialize in seafood, you can also get fabulous half-pound burgers at The Shack. Choose from the hamburger, cheeseburger, JT’s burger, or the Hammock burger. If the aroma of fish tempts you, specialties include seafood bouillabaisse, a shrimp or crab pot, fresh tilapia, and Blue Crab Imperial.

Try these four Palm Coast locations for some of the best burgers in the area. With a little exploration of the city, maybe you’ll find your own favorite to add to the list.
