2020 Ford Expedition

The 2020 Ford Expedition boasts a best-in-class tow rating of 9,300 pounds, best-in-class EPA-estimated fuel economy, as well as best-in-class legroom. In addition, this SUV offers state-of-the-art technology and impressive standard safety features. You can choose from four trims with the Expedition, namely XLT, Limited, King Ranch, and Platinum, and all trims also feature a Max model with an extended wheelbase that’s nine inches longer. Here’s some information on what’s offered with each trim.

XLT

All trims are powered by a peppy 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 engine that’s mated to a 10-speed automatic and makes 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Rear-wheel drive is standard but you can opt for an all-wheel-drive system across all trims. The base trim is well-equipped and boasts external features like 18-inch wheels, halogen fog lamps, roof-rack side rails, a Class IV trailer hitch receiver, and power-adjustable and heated mirrors.

The cabin of the Expedition is spacious and offers ample head- and legroom for up to eight passengers. Measuring at 20.9 cubic feet, the cargo area behind the third-row seat is generous and can be extended to 104.6 cubic feet by folding the rear seats flat. If you opt for a Max model, you’ll have even more space. Standard equipment includes push-button start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth upholstery, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat.

The standard infotainment system features all the bells and whistles, including an 8-inch display, a Wi-Fi hot spot, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and six speakers. In addition, the standard Co-Pilot360 safety suite offers auto high beams, a reverse sensing system, pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, and a rearview camera.

Limited

The Limited trim adds many convenient and luxury items. Added external features include 20-inch wheels, power-folding mirrors with memory and turn-signal indicators, a driver-side auto-dimming mirror, rain-sensing wipers, a hands-free foot-activated liftgate, and LED taillights. It is, however, inside the cabin that the Limited trim really adds value.

With this trim comes a long list of added interior equipment that includes ambient lighting, a 12-speaker audio system, leather-trimmed seats, power-adjustable pedals, tri-zone automatic climate control, memory features, remote start, ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel, perforated leather upholstery, and heated and ventilated front seats. The Limited trim also boasts added driver-assist features like a forward and reverse sensing system and blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert.

King Ranch

The King Ranch features a unique interior trim that consists of Del Rio leather seats, brushed aluminum inserts, and a panoramic vista roof. Added features include 22-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, LED head- and taillights, LED fog lights, as well as advanced active safety systems like enhanced active park assist system, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, a 360-degree camera, and adaptive cruise control.

Platinum

With the Platinum trim comes a beefed-up version of the 3.5-liter engine that kicks out 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. Other unique features include a satin-aluminum external trim, roof-rail crossbars, unique leather seating, a special wood trim, power-folding second- and third-row seats, active noise control, and multi-contour seats with Active Motion.

Featuring a powerful engine, a spacious and comfortable interior, and loads of modern equipment, the Expedition is an SUV to be reckoned with. To take one for a spin, drop by Palm Coast Ford.
